Exciting and unique farmstay options now available at Redleaf Farm.
We have 2 unique old railway carriages that will each accommodate 4 guests.
Carriage 1238 is a 1920’s passenger car that has had some modifications some 20 years ago and is now restored for farm stays. It retains the old timber interiors, (complete with almost 100 years of graffiti). It is self contained and quite close to the house. The king sized bed occupies an entire ‘room’ with chandelier and original sliding doors. There is a bunk room, sitting room, lovely kitchenette and dining table. A deck overlooks the paddocks, the perfect place for an afternoon glass of wine. You will be woken by the sound of roosters! A true farm experience.
Carriage 1238 is not ideal for overly large or mobility impaired guests, as the corridors are narrow and the bed is only accessible from one end. Be aware, the carriage is also not well insulated – so pack warm layers! Rest assured, there are cosy doonas, blankets and snuggly robes.

Carriage 343 is a unique Guards van built in 1890. It was modified in 1930 to include a freight room, guards van and passenger seating. It is on its original wheels and is positioned in the paddock with a magnificent rural view. Carriage 343 is powered only by solar, so imagine luxurious ‘camping’…
It has a queen bed and 2 single bunk beds, accommodating 4 people. Seats are upholstered with deer hide (shot on site) , there’s an original guards van tiny wood stove from the turn of the century, antiqued mirror lined bedroom walls and an antique french zinc bath with a view… quite unique!
